Darius Coleman Jefferson

Mr. Darius  Jefferson, 64, known to family as Darius, peacefully departed this life on March 21, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on December 26, 1954 to the late Carl Lee and Kay Frances Jefferson, the eldest of four children. He attended Pitt County Schools in Farmville. Darius was employed with the Town of Farmville for 30 years until his retirement in 2008.

He leaves cherished memories with his wife Rose, 2 sons; Matthew Avent, and Darius (Jeanette) Avent, a daughter; April Jefferson, 4 grandchildren; Kemarian, Demarian, Tyshawn, and Kydarius. 2 sisters; Yvette ( Levi) George, and Iris (Eric) Braxton, a brother; Chevalier Jefferson, sister in-law; Susie (Ricky), 2 brothers-in-law; Jerry (Lisa) Avent, and Michael Taylor. 2 uncles Willie (Carlotta) Jefferson, and Mardie (Katina) Jefferson, 3 aunts Runell Artis, Joyce Jefferson of NJ, and Joyce Jefferson of NC and a great- aunt Sadie Vines, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 2 very special friends; David Shackleford and Rob Porter.
